Website Review for Content and Designs That Sell

Take a break from linking and review your website.  Remember this is your storefront on the web.  It needs to be simple, professional and most of all make your potential new customers want to call you!  Just like your store front, if your website isn’t clean, neat and professional, no one will stop it.
By now you should have updated your website with your local business address.  It’s preferred to have this in the footer of every page and is should be exactly like the profile address we setup for you.  If it’s not practical to place it on every page, it should be on a contact us or about us page, maybe with a map to your business.

If you don’t have a website or on that is small and easy to move, you may want to consider a simple business website using Google Sites Templates.

Competitive Assessment

Compare your website to your competitions.  Search Google for your product and service.  Find your local and or national competitors sites.  What kind of content do they have on their site, how is it organized, what kind of pictures are they using.  Could your website be improved to have similar information about your business?

What is your competition doing to sell on their website?

You may need to adopt some of the same practices.  Phone numbers

Friend Critique

Have your family, friends and or close business contacts review and critique your website from a potential customer’s perspective.  Listen to their comments and update your site accordingly.

Different Browsers

Review your website in all the different web browsers:  Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Apple Safari.  It should ideally look the same in all browsers.  Many don’t or the website page won’t even load.  More and more internet users are using these alternative browsers.
Keep Adding Content

You should be continually working to improve the content on your website.  Include great information that your customer’s will appreciate, quality pictures and well written content.
When adding content, make sure if follows best practices for Google SEO.

Remember, the purpose of your website needs to sell your and your business.
